Kitty Bennet was a much prettier girl then anyone gave her credit to. But she had been over-shadowed all her life by the beauty of her two eldest sisters and she had followed Lydia all her life, so she was thought to be quite silly. But after being left with Mary, she had quickly lost her old ways and was a quite accomplished girl, playing and singing on the pianoforte. She even read a good deal and was quite sensible.

Kitty sighed heavily as she stared out the window, it was raining heavily and Mary had spent the whole day reciting 'Fordyce's Sermons'.

"Kitty, oh where is that girl! Kitty!" Mamma screamed once or twice and stopped, seeing no one was bothering to listen to her. Kitty glanced at her reflection and smiled. She had taken great pains and begged Jane's old maid to fix her hair, making her look quite pretty, even beautiful.

"Kitty, come here or I shall not let you see Lizzy's letter!"

    Chapter 1

Kitty eagerly read the letter her sister Elizabeth Darcy had sent her.
    Dear Kitty and Mary,

Oh, I long to hear from you. It has grown a bit boring being in confinement, and I content myself with writing long letters to my family. I am quite put out at Fitzwilliam for not making me visit Jane, it is all extremely vexing! Oh dear, now I sound like Lady Catherine. But the reason I wish to call you is because Jane and Mr. Bingley are staying here for a while and I wish you both to be here. Write quickly, and give Papa my dearest wishes.

    Your dearest sister,

    Elizabeth Darcy

"Oh! Mary! Elizabeth want's us to visit her at Pemberley!" Kitty scrambled from the couch and ran to her father's library.

Mr. Bennet had quickly grown to realize that Kitty was not the silly girl she had once used to be, and now she was as welcome to the library as his dear Lizzy was. He smiled at his daughter and quickly gave his consent. Kitty was bound for Pemberley in a week.

Kitty packed all her gowns and dresses in the trunk. "Done. Now to go see how Mary's faring."

Mary had finished packing, and was reading. Kitty shook her head and went to bed, as they were to waken early next morning for their trip.
