Thank you for this - your timing on the three strands was amazing! Our assistant minister collapsed this morning - diagnosed this afternoon with a brain tumour - and a hastily arranged prayer meeting tonight (200 assembled in a couple of hours) brought some comfort to all. Prognosis - we await more information tomorrow.
I just loved the thought that went into the design of the ring - just like Georgiana's pendant - the meaning behind the ring will last forever - and a lovely memory for them to share.
Found this after your lovely reference...
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:
If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Eccl 4:9-12 NIV
I think Will and Beth are a powerful force together, and the three strands of Will, Callie and Jeannie will surround Beth with love. Had a few others to help us up tonight - and they will help each other up - and those around Will and Beth like the newly christened "Uncle Richard" will do too. Yes, I also think it sounds nice. How does Aunt Georgiana feel about her new title - or does that just make her feel old?
Just hope there is no cold water shortage at the cabins before the wedding. Will arranging Richard's assistance to maintain every sense of propriety was a nice touch and demonstrated the extreme lengths he was prepared to go to, in order to ensure that he didn't compromise Beth's principles.
So when is the wedding, and can I assume Ed will give the bride away....? Will Callie throw another zinger and ask to call Ed "Pa" or "Grandpop"?
I hope Jeannie can adjust to the love and support as well. I think her new dad will go to great lengths to make her adjustment easier. Is it too much to ask for an angst free wedding night for Beth and Will? Ok, Ok I have asked for a lot (and from your previous comments it is already written so I will just have to wait and see).
Looking forward to the next instalments.
